My fellow Ohio Optimists: It’s with a heavy heart and a feeling of Great loss that I must advise you that Past International Vice President, Past Governor, and Legendary Ohio Optimist William “Bill” O’Neil has passed away peacefully Monday, May 21 at 3 am after his Optimist Strong battle with lung cancer. Please keep his loving wife Sharon O’Neil and his family in your thoughts and prayers. If there’s an Optimist Club in Heaven, Bill is now a member, and he probably has agreed to Chair the Scholarship Committee.

Visitation for Bill O’Neil will be Friday, May 25th, 2018, from 4 – 7 pm at the Carlson Funeral Home, 3744 Medina Road, Medina, Ohio.

Funeral Mass ONLY, meet at the church, there will be no visitation before Mass on Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 East Washington Street, Medina, Ohio.

I have lost my Optimist mentor and friend. Bill O’Neil was the Finest Optimist I have ever met. I will be attending the viewing and funeral and I hope that I will see you in attendance as well.

Please share this information with your Optimist friends, and in this time of grief, remember to Stay Optimist Strong! Governor Tom Kendo
